Big day in Boston folks, BIG day!
To start, word on the street is that a new sandwich shop, Cutty's has opened its doors in Brookline Village Run by former Cook's Illustrated and Gourmet Magazine contributor, this place specializes in killer sandwiches made super fresh. Since I still haven't been able to deem one particular place the best sandwich shop in Boston, I'm giddy with the prospect of this place. Rest assured a review will be coming soon.
Next, I also heard that the Roadhouse, on Beacon Street in Brookline has finally waved its white flag and closed its doors in order to open up a new spot, American Craft. Brought to us by the same masterminds that gave us the Publick House, this place has a lot of potential. They haven't opened their doors yet, but there is a sneak peak of the menu online and I must say, it looks pretty tasty!
On another note, it seems the Boston culinary world is holding their breath in anticipation of Barbara Lynch's next restaurant, Menton, set to open in the Fort Point neighborhood at the end of this month. This Southie native is opening an uber classy place that will offer set tasting menus in the (steep) ballpark of $85-$145. I'm dying to see how Bostonians handle this! Although, if anyone can make it work, Barbara Lynch can.
