Want to Win $40 to Sibling Rivalry?

After a long and dreary winter, I'm especially looking forward to spring in Boston. Not necessarily that date on the calendar that designates that it's "officially" spring, but that first real week of spring when, for at least a stretch of a couple days, the weather is so nice that a jacket isn't required and all threats of blustery winter weather have vanished. I don't want to jinx things, but I think this week might be it and what better way to celebrate the (real) arrival of warmer weather than with a contest? I don't know about you, but as the weather gets nicer, I find myself wanting to go out more and enjoy this awesome city we live in. So let's get the ball rolling, shall we? Let's start spring off on a good note.

The folks at Eversave Boston are offering up one lucky Small Boston Kitchen reader a voucher that's good for $40 to South End's Sibling Rivalry. The concept for this spot is pretty cool - two chefs that are also brothers show their talents by preparing "dueling" menus featuring a selection of seasonal ingredients. Playing off of that, and to make this contest a little fun, I've selected a seasonal ingredient listed below. To enter, leave me a comment telling me what you'd make with this ingredient. Don't be afraid to get a little creative here, let's see whatcha got! The winner will be selected on Wednesday, May 3rd and will be chosen by randominteger.com. For an extra entry, you can also Tweet about this by writing "I want to win today's Save to Sibling Rivalry from @Eversave and @The_SBK!"

And the secret ingredient is:
Leeks!

Good Luck!

This contest is sponsored by Eversave Boston, please check them out on Facebook and Twitter, word on the street is that they are offering some pretty exciting contests right now, be sure to check them out!

I have only cooked with leeks maybe once or twice, but I would incorporate them into a minestrone stew or maybe a veggie sheppard's pie. I think they would be good in either!

I also tweeted :)

For Easter, I made a crust-less quiche with asparagus, roasted tomatoes, gruyere, and LEEKS! It was so amazing, I'd love to make it again soon.

Probably because it is rainy outside and because I haven't eaten yet today... I would throw caramelized leeks into a hearty braise with some short ribs and a gooey sweet sauce. yum. must go get some food now...

Hmm...I made a pretty basic leek & potatoe soup once. I'd like to try something with some spice...maybe some curry...

It's spring and grilling season! So I would make grilled leeks w/ Romesco sauce. I visited Catalonia and love the Romesco sauce a nut thickened pepper sauce- Yumbo!

Easy! A super delicious artichoke, goat cheese and LEEK pizza on multi-grain crust. Mmmmm, maybe I'll even make that for dinner tonight!
