A couple weeks ago, I started my own little make-shift herb garden from two cleaned out tomato cans (it's all very Green of me, I know) and I noticed today, that they were actually starting to grow! Not that I didn't expect them to grow, but it's sort of an amazing feeling coming home to some cute little sprouts and knowing that I made that happen. It looks like the cilantro is really starting to sprout and the basil might be a little behind but that's okay, I know it will have a strong finish. I can't wait until they get to full size, then the fun can really begin! Salsa and salad and sauce..OH MY!
Here's a couple of shots of my little herbies..Aren't they cute?

That's so awesome! I just posted a pic of my growing strawberries. I agree with you 100%, coming home to find something you planted sprouting is an amazing feeling. I also plant tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, and jalapenos-- in pots. Have you grown any veggies yet?
What a cute idea!! I've always wanted a little garden and that's a great way to do it in Boston.
Terrianne, I have not tried veggies yet, do you live in a city? I ask because of space issues. I would love to grow my own veggies but am afraid that it will consume my tiny little apartment! Curious if you have that problem..
Thanks Ashleigh! The hardest part is waiting for it to grow!
Hi, I'm a little late in responding. I wish we would get alerts about responses, like on FB.
To your ?, Yes. I live in Boston, too; Roslindale. I grow fruits and veggies in pots that I keep outside, on the walkway leading up to my house. There isn't a lot of room, but I live in the last house on a dead end street, so I don't have to worry about them getting in anyone's way.
I'm growing the strawberries in small pots outside. I imagine you'd have room for something like that.
I totally agree about waiting for them to grow. However, it is really exciting to watch as it happens. =)
I haven't seen any new pictures, or did I miss them? How's the progess coming along?
Happy Growing.
